You will learn and experience how to move your spine the way nature intended.
Uwe himself experienced years with extreme back pain, which even a back surgery (disc removal) did not remedy, so he can relate to the pain and misery that back pain creates. The klesas (afflictions) are mental delusions that prevent us from seeing clearly. Classical yoga philosophy attributes all human suffering to this inability.  Yoga practices can remedy this situation and lead us toward contentment.
During our week of asana practice (physical postures) and pranayama (breathing practices)
we will experience how seeing ourselves clearly is one of the many benefits of sustained yoga practice.
We will also discuss relevant sutras from The Yoga Sutra of Patanjali.
Please bring a copy of this text if you have one.

Yoga for a Healthy Lower Back

with Liz Owen, E-RYT 500
$65 includes complimentary copy of Liz's book and CT sales tax
ENROLLMENT LIMITED: Reservations required

Are you one of the 31 million Americans who experience lower back pain? According to the National Institutes of Health, lower back injuries and conditions are second only to the cold as a reason for a visit to the doctor. If you think about all the work your lower back does throughout your day, every day, it’s no wonder that it is so vulnerable to injury and strain.
In this workshop you will explore your own lower back through yoga postures and breathwork. You will learn gentle, safe movements to stretch tight muscles and strengthen weak ones, how to cope with pain flare-ups, and how to create natural tone and balance while respecting conditions and limitations. Owen’s knowledge of yoga philosophy brings mindfulness and depth into your healing journey. Open to students of all levels – come and soothe your sore, achy back!
