Sandra Kopell, E-RYT Yoga Alliance, MALS,
Studio Director, began the Yoga in Middletown program in 1991. She is a graduate
of the B.K.S. Iyengar Yoga Center of Greater Boston Teacher Training
Program where she studied with Patricia Walden and Peentz Dubble. She is certified
to teach by the White Lotus Foundation in Santa Barbara, CA. Her teaching is informed
by three decades immersion in movement and mind/body studies that include the
practice and teaching of yoga, modern dance, choreography, dance improvisation,
anatomy and kinesiology, and massage therapy. She holds a post-graduate degree
in Dance and Movement Studies from Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT. She
also teaches yoga to children at area public schools and Yoga for Seniors at the
Green Street Arts Center. She has trained new Yoga Instructors according the
Yoga Alliance Standards, and continues to study the Iyengar method. |
Sheila Bunnell, Certified Iyengar Yoga
Instructor (visit iynaus.org for more info) has been a student of Yoga
since 1998 and has been studying with Joan White in Philadelphia since 2002. She
has been on the Yoga in Middletown faculty since 2003, and was the
staff yoga instructor for teenagers at the Educational Center for the Arts
in New Haven for four years. Julie Carrion, RYT
Yoga Alliance, Anusara Certification Track, has been practicing yoga since
1995 and teaching since 2002. She served on the Yoga Teacher Training Program
at Yoga Yoga Studios in Austin, TX. She is a student of Anusara founder
John Friend and of Anusara teacher Christina Sell.She received her certification
in Postnatal Yoga from Iyengar Instructor Leslie Lytle in June of 2006. She
is the mother of two very young children. Karen MacPhadyen,
MD, RYT Yoga Alliance, was a family physician in Canada. She has been practicing
yoga since 2005, and completed the Teacher Training program at Yoga in Middletown
in 2008. She is certified by Judith Lasater to teach Relax and Renew®,
a restorative yoga style. | |
